Demonetisation is economic robbery: Rahul Gandhi in Almora

The Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Friday held a rally in Almora in Uttarakhand at the University campus ground.
Criticising the Modi government's move of scrapping Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 denominations, Rahul Gandhi called the move 'economic robbery.' He said that more than 100 people have lost their lives ever since demonetisation.
"Banning of notes is an economic dacoity of the government. Modi ji has created a divide between one per cent super-rich and 99 per cent honest people of the country," said Gandhi while addressing a rally in Almora.
"Not a single black money holder has been arrested so far. This policy was not against black money. There are 50 families who had taken loans. The scheme was to waive off the loans worth Rs 8 lakh crore of these families," he added.
Reciting a couplet of Basheer Badr, Rahul launched a scathing attack at PM Modi and said, "Log toot jate hain ghar banane mein, tum taras nahin khate bastiyan jalane mein."
