Court dismisses Swamy's plea seeking documents of National Herald from AJL

The next hearing in the case will be held on February 10, 2017. The BJP leader Swamy had sought documents and ledger books from Congress and Associated Journals Limited (AJL). He will have to give a list of witnesses on the next hearing.

In his petition, Swamy had alleged that Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice-president Rahul Gandhi got hold of Associated Journals through ‘dishonest means’ which pertains to ‘criminal misappropriation and criminal breach of trust’.
The defence counsel appearing for Gandhis mentioned that Swami filed a complaint in July 2013 which did not have any reference regarding the loan borrowed from the Congress. The counsel argued that the details of the loan were never mentioned in the returns and that the documents asked by Swamy were not necessary for the case.
